Discover sustainable strategies to support your health, without a focus on changing your body size.
When it comes to health conditions, there can be enormous pressure to lose weight or follow restrictive diets. For most people this advice leads to cycles of weight loss and regain, shame and stress around food - all of which are not helpful for our health.
The reality is we have very limited evidence to show that long-term weight loss is achievable for most people. But there’s plenty of evidence that changes to our diet can have a positive impact on our health, regardless of weight.
I support people experiencing:
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome/Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS/PMOS)
Insulin resistance and Type 2 Diabetes
Heart health: high cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure
Nutrient deficiencies
In my experience, if nutrition advice is based on rigid rules of “good” and “bad” foods, generic meal plans, and restricting our favourite foods, it’s unlikely to be effective in any long-term sense.
This is why I work one-on-one with people to share what eating patterns are helpful for their health concerns and why. Then we work together to explore and experiment with changes that are actually achievable and suited to their lifestyle.
